What We Believe
- The Bible is God’s inspired, authoritative Word and applies to our everyday lives. It is inspired in the sense that individuals were moved by the Holy Spirit to write the very words of Scripture.
- God eternally exists in three Persons—the Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit: distinguishable but indivisible.
- We believe in the sinfulness of humankind. Sin has created broken relationships with God and with others. The only atonement for sin is through repentance and faith in the sacrificial and substitutionary death of Jesus Christ on the cross.
- Christ, the eternal God, took on the form of a man using the virgin birth, lived a sinless life, died on the cross in our place, and rose again in demonstration of His victory and to empower us for life.
- We believe in the resurrection of Jesus, His ascension into heaven, and His priestly intercession.
- Salvation is the gift of God by grace alone and received by personal faith in Jesus Christ.
- We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit for the equipping of believers and His accompanying gifts and fruits.
- We believe in the power and importance of the local church, with Christ Jesus as the Chief cornerstone. The church has been entrusted with the ordinances of water baptism by immersion and the Lord’s Supper.
- All people are made in the image of God. As such, we believe in the equality and essential dignity of men and women of all ethnicities, ages, and classes.
- God has uniquely equipped individuals to fulfill His life purpose. Therefore, we are to use these God-given gifts to worship and develop those gifts for personal, family, community, and global benefit.
- We believe in the glorious return of Christ. There will be a resurrection of both the saved and the unsaved and that our eternal destination of either heaven or hell is determined by our response to the Lord Jesus Christ.
